Yes — participants should already feel comfortable swimming and able to swim continuously in the pool. INTO THE BLUE is not a learn-to-swim programme; the focus is on building confidence, calmness, and control in open water.

You are absolutely not alone. Many swimmers — including experienced triathletes — feel anxious in open water. This camp is designed specifically to help you understand those feelings, develop practical tools, and rebuild trust in the water at your own pace.

There are no strict distance requirements, but you should be able to swim comfortably for 750m or 30 minutes at your own pace without needing to stand. The emphasis is not on speed or performance — it’s about feeling safe and steady.

Never. Participation in all sessions is choice-based. We encourage progress through small steps, and you are always supported to work within your own comfort zone. All sessions are optional.

All swims are supervised by an experienced coach with open-water safety knowledge. A safety kayak will be used in sessions where it’s appropriate.
Conditions and locations may change depending on the weather to ensure the safest and most supportive environment for the group.

Sea temperatures in Playa Blanca in February are typically around 18–19°C. While days are often warm and sunny, an extra layer is recommended for cooler mornings or evenings.

Yes — a wetsuit is recommended for comfort and buoyancy but it’s not compulsory.

No. INTO THE BLUE focuses on confidence, calmness, and personal progress rather than speed or competition.

Most days include a morning water session and either a talk, workshop, or recovery time in the afternoon. Several days will include a second swim after the talk.
The programme is structured to allow both learning and rest.

Absolutely. Most participants attend on their own, and the small-group environment makes it easy to feel welcome and supported.

Accommodation is not included, giving you the flexibility to choose from the many hotels, apartments, and villas available in Playa Blanca.
